M.A. Thesis: Prepare to Pivot

My 2021 M.A. Thesis which discusses the challenges of pivoting from live delivery to online streaming of a projection design, all fomented by the COVID-19 epidemic. This paper also includes my practice as performance approach to design, a discussion of virtual filmmaking and the shifts that are taking place in the film and television industry, as well as explorations of my discoveries made while using Unreal Engine to create performance environments for a production of She Kills Monsters at the University of Montana in the Fall of 2020. Screenplay

This is a screenplay for a short film that I wrote as my final in Tobin Addington’s screenwriting course. (Photo: From the stage at The Opera House in Philipsburg during spring clean in prep for the 2012 season. Photo by David Mills-Low)

Poetry

I started at the University of Montana as a poet. I write fewer poems these days, but the forms and the act of playing with language feeds everything that I write. (Photo: Sun burns through the trees at Larch Camp. Photo by David Mills-Low.)

Sketch

One of the running gags at the Opera House if Philipsburg was the appearance of the Maxville Chickens, who made an annual appearance in our vaudeville shows. Their numbers were wild and varied, ranging from the Maxville Chickens at the Movies (I did a Marlon Brando impression as a chicken in that one) to Looney Toons style chase scenes to Chickie Fan Tutti: an Opera in 15 Greasy Acts. This particular script is for The Maltese Pullet, a pun filled send up of Noir. (Photo: A promo photo for the 2012 season at The Opera House in Philipsburg.
